DEMONSTRATION and ACTION
The Time to Fight is Now!
Start: 2:30 p.m. Augustusplatz End: Connewitzer Kreuz
The alliance “8. March Is Always” calls on everyone to take to the streets together in Leipzig! Let us be loud and visible for a feminist future – free from oppression, exploitation, violence, and discrimination.
What Do We Stand For?
We fight for a world in which patriarchal violence, sexism, racism, and all other forms of discrimination no longer have a place! March 8th is more than a symbolic day: the feminist struggle is being fought worldwide every single day.
Right-wing and anti-feminist narratives have reached the so-called “political center.” Under the pretext of economic constraints, our environment and our very existence is being destroyed. Hiding under the guise of tradition and protection, the sexual self-determination of FLINTA* is once again being called into question – our bodies, our decisions, our lives! The fight for our rights and self-determination is a bitter reality: my body my choice!
That is Why We Say: TheTime to Fight is Now.
Whether it be wage inequality, violence against FLINTA* (women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans, and agender people), unpaid work in the home, or sexual self-determination – we say: Enough is enough! Our vision is a feminist future in which the rights of all people are respected and celebrated, in which equality and solidarity form the foundation of our coexistence. A future in which we are aware of the interconnectedness of all life and protect our world. A future in which all people have the freedom to self-determination without fear and to live their dreams in a world full of respect and justice. A world in which diversity is recognized as a strength and no one is left behind because of gender, origin, identity, or status.
March 8 is International Day for the Feminist Fight: worldwide, attention is drawn on this day to feminist struggles and demands. Here in Leipzig, too, we want to send a clear signal: Feminism remains indispensable – join us in the streets!
Bring your banners, signs, and voices. Let us be loud together and transform Leipzig into a city of feminist solidarity. Our fights are international, intersectional, and unstoppable – because March 8th is always!
Our Demonstration Consensus:
Show solidarity without national and territorial flags! Banners or stickers expressing opinions – without the use of national flags and nationalist symbols – promote the possibility of entering into dialogue.
We oppose forms of oppression and discrimination such as nationalism, antisemitism, racism, anti-Muslim racism, sexism, ableism, transphobia, and homophobia.
This applies to the entire action of the “8. March Is Always” alliance on 08.03.2026: to the demonstration, the speeches, and the promotional materials.
